Michelle and I will be in San Francisco this weekend for my 25th year high school reunion. I was in the Class of 1983 at Lowell High. The reunion is taking place at the Presidio Golf Club on Saturday evening. Michelle and I are flying in on Friday and we’ll be leaving on Sunday afternoon.
It’s a bummer that our stay will be so short but we just can’t afford any more time what with the kids and work and all. But we’re looking forward to making Saturday night a memorable one!
Also, we’ll be back in the Bay Area in October for Michelle’s cousin’s wedding. That trip will be a week long.
Last Friday, Russell had his last fencing class for this semester. The last class is always a tournament so the students can put to use all of the lessons they have learned in a real environment.
The video above is of Russell (on the left) at the end of a match scoring two successive points and beating his opponent. It’s all in fun, though. His opponent was one of his best friends from school, Chess.
The video was taken with my new digital camera so it’s not the best quality in the world (although it’s not bad!). And the YouTube service that I posted it to degrades it even a bit more. Someday, I’ll figure out how to stream video from this site without having to use YouTube.
Our neighborhood had its annual community yard sale on Saturday morning and Michelle bought these really cool butterfly wings to use for her kid’s classes.
When we brought them home, Ian was fascinated by them and Darci had the great idea of fitting them on him. I grabbed my camera and here is the result.
Welcome to all our friends and family in North Carolina, the San Francisco Bay Area, Australia, Washington State, Idaho, New Jersey, and the gods know where else. Welcome also to anyone else who happens to stumble onto this site. We aim to be inclusive.
I’ve revived the first domain name we ever had (since 1998) and have put it to use as our newly created family journal. Both Michelle and I will be posting here regularly so keep checking back or feel free to subscribe to our RSS feed if you know how to do that. Hint: look down at the bottom of this page.
We also have a Flickr account from which we can post pictures to this blog and since we just bought a spiffy new digital camera there are going to be a lot of pictures showing up here. I’ve already taken more than a hundred shots and we’ve only had the camera less than a week.
So, enjoy your stay and y’all come on back now! (did we mention we live in North Carolina?)
